So for anyone that's been playing SupCom for a while now, you might've noticed the ramping up of the AI. New video, talking about the AI and showcasing a new map + couple of new experimentals: Not that Starcraft 2 isn't a good game (been playing it a fair amount lately), but seriously, a lot of the players have pretty much conditioned themselves to the point where they don't actually see the micromanagement anymore.

People in the Starcraft thread keep trying to maintain it's not a micromanagement heavy game somehow. It really is the anti-Starcraft of RTS's. It's a shame GPG aren't really giving this too much support now, a few new maps wouldn't go amiss. Started using that to take over his experimental Airnomos and attack his base. I remember a game on Corvana chasm once where I set up a Loyalty gun on one of the enemy platforms.

Not sure how well that would work on Settons though, considering it's the largest map and gives some players the ability to tech un-harassed. If the enemy spending resources to get that up fast on the air route, it often means thatĪ) they haven't really been able to invest in a proper army / defence, andī) if it fails they're likely going to get hit by a counter-attack.

I've been on the receiving end of engineer drops before, where basically if you haven't got AA up around your core base they can send a transport of engineers and get to work reclaiming / capturing your base.įortunately it's kind of an all-in tactic. Haven't seen the Noah-Engineer attack but it makes sense. Even on 4v4's I've played games fine with people pinging at around 300. Not Australian, but you're right, in a game like this having a ping of 300 doesn't slow things down, it still plays out fine. He failed when he got to my base with his engis cause I had a huge wave of tanks and stuff that I used to intercept him, but while i was destroying them he noah launched another 42 behind my base and reclaimed it all before my tanks could intercept them. I was laughing so hard I could hardly believe what was happening.

I love gunships and the first thing I'll do when I get SupCom 2 (one of these days) is fill my pop cap with experimental UEF gunships. They will also save your ass so hard when the playing field gets bigger. T3 cannons, while they have a real large 'can't hit shit' circle, they'll be pretty necessary by the end game, ensuring the death of large annoying objects coming your way. For all purpose, fill out your pop cap with gunships. They also deal with air, so they're multipurpose. I went with, I think, the T3 Battleship-thingies (been awhile). Then shield up, get naval units instead of useless torpedo launchers. I found the best thing you can do is die over and over, just to learn the in and outs of the enemy path.
